The more a person is united within himself or herself and inwardly simple, the more and higher things he or she understands, because he or she receives the light of understanding from within.

Be excellent in your own terms. Do not look for approval from a single soul on this planet. Respect yourself and in time the whole world will respect you. It is a tragedy of modern life that the light of truth scares the society much more than the darkness of ignorance.
Abhijit Naskar
Wisdom begins in knowing the self.
Abhijit Naskar
Criticisms of a society filled with fools have no power in them to bother the sage that has emerged from the agonizing fire of misery.
Abhijit Naskar
Once you die, that's it
Abhijit Naskar
Do not listen to a single soul, but your own inner voice. Foster your will and make it as wild as possible. Dive deep into the mysterious fathoms of the universe and accomplish your purpose by hook or by crook, even if it means going down to the bottom of the ocean to meet your doom.
Abhijit Naskar
All achievements begin with the simple cognitive faculties known as perception and imagination. Expand your perception. Expand your imagination. Be aware of your inner strength. Realize yourself. Realize your abilities. Be sincere to nobody else, but yourself. Keep walking on the path of bravery. Keep walking on the path of your passion. Keep walking, and do not stop until you reach your goal. And remember, there will always be another goal to be achieved. So, have pleasure from the pursuit.

One who knows what he or she knows as well as what he or she does not know is a genius.

You must hiss at people who intend to undermine your individuality with their false pride and intellectual stupidity. You must frighten them away, lest they should do you harm. Act like you have a lot of venom inside you, but never inject them into anyone.
Abhijit Naskar
Death is the ultimate cessation of the individual Self.

A Neuroscientist can be the smartest man (or woman) on earth in his understanding of the human mind. He may know all the neurochemical changes underlying an outrageous behavior of a person. But when he gets mad himself, very little of his own scientific intellect would actually come in handy for him to control his rage. The virtue of self-control is a skill, which requires practice, regardless of all the neurobiological expertise in the world.
Abhijit Naskar
Light up the radiant flame of conscience, goodwill and compassion in your heart, and go over the length and breadth of your society in the pursuit of shedding light over the whole world. And in time, you'll become a glorious sun that will shine over the entire human population.
Abhijit Naskar
Never focus your attention on what the world has to say about you. Rather turn your focus inside and listen to what your inner voice has to say to you. You can find the answers to the most complicated questions of life from your deepest self. Pay attention and listen. Your inner self has to say something to you. Listen to that eternal entity within, and you shall discover the way through which you'll reach your goal.

With each drop of tear that we shed in our times of excruciating pain, our brain constructs majestic new cellular connections to aid in the pursuit of our passion - in the pursuit of truth.

Have faith in yourself. All the power is in your biology already. Be conscious of that power and bring it out. Remember, truth is indestructible, virtue is indestructible, purity is indestructible.

You are surrounded by ignorance, savagery and fanaticism. You live in a society where everyone thinks he/she knows about everything in the whole universe. If you find yourself among those intellectual idiots, then being good and humble may give rise to doubts in your mind about your own ideas. So, you must first learn to distinguish between real and shallow intellect. Then, as a self- preservation tactic, you need to let your pretence of arrogance grow as big as a Dinosaur, so that the fake intellectuals start to realize their true inferiority in front of you.
Abhijit Naskar
Be brave and upright. Shred the fake mask of humility into pieces. And put on the mask of arrogance if needed. Take the whole responsibility of your surrounding society on your own shoulders. If you consider yourself a human being, who cares for humanity, then, become a brave responsible citizen of the whole world. If not a big banyan tree, at least be like a mango tree under the shade of which a few people can rest. You are the architects of this beautiful world. Build it your way. And nourish it with your modern conscience.
Abhijit Naskar
The Self, when finite, is Human and when infinite, is God.
Abhijit Naskar
Realize yourself. Realize your abilities. Be sincere to nobody else, but yourself. Keep walking on the path of bravery. Keep walking on the path of your passion. Keep walking, and do not stop until you reach your goal.

One kind of good book should leave you asking: how did the author know that about me?

Jesus Christ knew he was God. So wake up and find out eventually who you really are. In our culture, of course, they'll say you're crazy and you're blasphemous, and they'll either put you in jail or in a nut house (which is pretty much the same thing). However if you wake up in India and tell your friends and relations, 'My goodness, I've just discovered that I'm God,' they'll laugh and say, 'Oh, congratulations, at last you found out.

Depression weighs you down like a rock in a river. You don't stand a chance. You can fight and pray and hope you have the strength to swim, but sometimes, you have to let yourself sink. Because you'll never know true happiness until someone or something pulls you back out of that river--and you'll never believe it until you realize it was you, yourself who saved you.
Amaka Imani Nkosazana
It's not a matter of whether you want happiness. We all need peace, love, and happiness. But, if you fail to nurture your spirit, by absorbing all things good and giving attention to the matters of your heart, it will be hard to obtain. It must radiate from inside of you. Then, flow outwardly penetrating everyone around you.
Amaka Imani Nkosazana
Take some time and figure out what you desire most from life. Wherever your desire is, your heart will be also. Seek the opportunity to become greater than your circumstances. You may not be where you want to be. But if you continue pushing forward and striving at a steady pace, you'll get there. All things take time.
Amaka Imani Nkosazana
If life is a song, you must be the superb lyrics to a sweet melody.

In order to be a success, you must think like success. Get up and move! You got to make things happen.
Amaka Imani Nkosazana
Loving yourself is of vital importance. Because there is no way you'll love another soul if you fail to have self love. Embrace your beautiful spirit and shine light for those who may be living in the dark. You are human and your heart is designed to love and live. You can not be open to love if you're not loving yourself.
Amit K Ghosh

We are more severe judges of our own acts... We judge our thoughts, our intents, our secret curses, our secret hates, not only our acts.
Andrew McMillan
Being one's true and honest self can often be dangerous; and poetry should always be a place where, if only between the pages, that danger and energy and fear and excitement and love can fizz and spark without ever threatening to burn something down.
Andrew Wilson
As the new year began, [Patricia Highsmith] felt completely paralysed, incapable of reading or picking up the phone. 'I can feel my grip loosening on my self,' she wrote. 'It is like strength failing in the hand that holds me above an abyss.' She wished there was a more awful-sounding word for what she was feeling than simply 'depression'. She wanted to die, she said, but then realised that the best course of action would be to endure the wretchedness until it passed. Her wish was, 'Not to die, but not to exist, simply, until this is over'.
Andrew Wilson
After reading Burgum, [Patricia Highsmith] wrote in her cahier that, like Kafka, she felt she was a pessimist, unable to formulate a system in which an individual could believe in God, government or self. Again like Kafka, she looked into the great abyss which separated the spiritual and the material and saw the terrifying emptiness, the hollowness, at the heart of every man, a sense of alienation she felt compelled to explore in her fiction. As her next hero, she would take an architect, 'a young man whose authority is art and therefore himself,' who when he murders, 'feels no guilt or even fear when he thinks of legal retribution'. The more she read of Kafka the more she felt afraid as she came to realise, 'I am so similar to him.
Andrew Wilson
The artistic life is a long and lovely suicide precisely because it involves the negation of self; as Highsmith imagined herself as her characters, so Ripley takes on the personae of others and in doing so metamorphoses himself into a 'living' work of art. A return to the 'real life' after a period of creativity resulted in a fall in spirits, an agony Highsmith felt acutely. She voiced this pain in the novel via Bernard's quotation of an excerpt from Derwatt's notebook: 'There is no depression for the artist except that caused by a return to the self'.
Anita B. Sulser PhD
o not preoccupy yourself with wants or expectations. The world won't abide by the standards, you set in any case, whether you set them too low or too high. It will break them every time for the simple fact that our true essence has no desire, hope or expectation for anything. It has no selfish inclinations of any kind. Everything, it experiences, is a passing phase, not its real identity.
Anne Carson
Then the edge asserts itself. You are not a god. You are not that enlarged self. Indeed, you are not even a whole self, as you now see. Your new knowledge of possibilities is also a knowledge of what is lacking in the actual.
Anthony Marra
We wear clothes, and speak, and create civilizations, and believe we are more than wolves. But inside us there is a word we cannot pronounce and that is who we are.
Anurag Shourie
Self-destruction is an art; cursed are the exponents.
Arthur Rosenfeld
Certainly we can say that the pace of modern life, increased and supported by our technology in general and our personal electronics in particular, has resulted in a short attention span and an addiction to the influx of information. A mind so conditioned has little opportunity to think critically, and even less chance to experience life deeply by being in the present moment. A complex life with complicated activities, relationships and commitments implies a reflexive busy-ness that supplants true thinking and feeling with knee-jerk reactions. It is a life high in stress and light on substance, at least in the spiritually meaningful dimensions of being.
Ashok Kallarakkal
Marriage is the union of two 'I's to form a 'V'. Both 'I's have to tilt equally to make a good 'V'. 'I's standing tall can never make a 'V'.
Augustine of Hippo
There can only be two basic loves... the love of God unto the forgetfulness of self, or the love of self unto the forgetfulness and denial of God.
Avina Celeste
The most important journey in your life will be the journey to find yourself. To find who you are, to find what you love, is the greatest gift in life. Look at yourself, honestly, and find who you really are. To reveal your true self might be scary but the act of learning who you really are is important to make it possible to live your best possible life.
Avina Celeste
Do not change yourself to please others, change yourself to please yourself. You are the person that truly matters in your life. You are the person you wake up to every morning and fall asleep to every night. Your life is for you.
Avina Celeste
When people attempt to morph themselves into someone they are not as a way of conforming to their view of how they should be, they quell the very parts of themselves that makes them who they need to be. If we all fell under the category of normal, how would anyone ever succeed? We would all hover in the same place forever. No one would improve. Everyone would remain idle. We may even all begin to retrogress. I believe that part of being human is to have the ability to change and improve yourself. Be who you need to be, not who you think you should be.
Avina Celeste
Talk to yourself. Tell yourself you are beautiful. Tell yourself you are strong. See all the beauty that you have inside and speak it aloud. Let your mind see yourself in a positive light.
Ayn Rand
To sell your soul is the easiest thing in the world. That's what everybody does every hour of his life. If I asked you to keep your soul - would you understand why that's much harder?
Balakoteswara Panchakshari
Not easy, not at all for everyone to see the beauty of one's self/soul. It's all about money, nothing else.
Brené Brown
If you own this story you get to write the ending.
Brené Brown
We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness and affection.Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between two people when it exists within each one of them
Brennan Manning
In my experience, self-hatred is the dominant malaise crippling Christians and stifling their growth in the Holy Spirit.
Brennan Manning
Silent solitude makes true speech possible and personal. If I am not in touch with my own belovedness, then I cannot touch the sacredness of others. If I am estranged from myself, I am likewise a stranger to others.
Brennan Manning
Define yourself radically as one beloved by God. This is the true self. Every other identity is illusion.
Brennan Manning
Accepting the reality of our sinfulness means accepting our authentic self. Judas could not face his shadow; Peter could. The latter befriended the impostor within; the former raged against him.
Brennan Manning
Live in the wisdom of accepted tenderness. Tenderness awakens within the security of knowing we are thoroughly and sincerely liked by someone...Scripture suggests that the essence of the divine nature is compassion and that the heart of God is defined by tenderness.
Brian Tracy
Love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.
C. Elizabeth
Listen to your inner self, it knows you best.
C. JoyBell C.
Don't think about making life better for other people who don't even deserve you, rather, focus on making your life the best, for yourself and those who love you.
C. JoyBell C.
It is when you lose sight of yourself, that you lose your way. To keep your truth in sight you must keep yourself in sight and the world to you should be a mirror to reflect to you your image; the world should be a mirror that you reflect upon.
C.G. Jung
It is the truth, a force of nature that expresses itself through me
Carol Channing
When you try to talk about yourself, you dont know who you are, or what your like, or what your like to other people. And the moment you do it's a formula for yourself, and then you're imitating yourself, and then nobody likes you and they dont know why.
Cassandra Clare
If you never tell anyone the truth about yourself, eventually you start to forget. The love, the heartbreak, the joy, the despair, the things I did that were good, the things I did that were shameful--if I kept them all inside, my memories of them would start to disappear. And then I would disappear.
Cecil Day-Lewis
And yet this self, containsTides, continents and stars―a myriad selves,Is small and solitary as one grass-bladePassed over by the windAmongst a myriad grasses on the prairie.

What makes us leave what we love best? What is it inside us that keeps erasing itselfWhen we need it most,That sends us into uncertainty for its own sakeAnd holds us flush there until we begin to love itAnd have to begin again? What is it within our own lives we decline to liveWhenever we find it, making our days unendurable,And nights almost visionless?I still don't know yet, but I do it.
Charlotte Eriksson
I have rooted myself into this quiet place where I don't need much to get by. I need my visions. I need my books. I need new thoughts and lessons, from older souls, bars, whisky, libraries; different ones in different towns. I need my music. I need my songs. I need the safety of somewhere to rest my head at night, when my eyes get heavy. And I need space. Lots of space. To run, and sing, and change around in any way I please

And people turn to internet with the hope that in this virtual world, where real identity need not be disclosed, they will find someone before whom they could be their true self, without any pretensions and get an opportunity to release the pent-up emotions and feel light.
Christina Rossetti
I lock my door upon myself, And bar them out; but who shall wall Self from myself, most loathed of all?
Christopher Paolini
But you possess one quality that no one else does. Oh? Your identity. Your history, deeds and situation. Use those to shape your creation and you will produce something unique. Whatever you make, base it upon that which is most important to you. Only then will it have depth and meaning, and only then will it resonate with others.
Claire Keegan
I am in a spot where I can neither be what I always am nor turn into what I could be.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
You are not made in 'your image'. You are, in fact, made in 'God's image'. Therefore, which one are you looking for when you look in the mirror?
Craig D. Lounsbrough
Self-preservation is to hunker down in the suffocating confines of this infinitesimally tiny existence that I define as 'me,' instead of letting 'me' run through the infinitely massive expanse of everything that is not me. And if the beast of self-preservation does not permit such freedoms, I will preserve myself to my own death.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
It's not a lack of opportunity around me. Rather, it's a lack of faith within me.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
There's not much that I can find in places where there is nothing to find. However, to avoid facing God I find myself spending a lot of time in those very places.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
To embrace an attitude of humility is to free myself from myself. And that is likely the great liberation of all.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
However far I've come, it's probably somewhere less than halfway of where I could be if I simply believed in myself.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
If I were to sit down and count them, how many of my prayers were tainted by the seduction of greed? None, simply because nothing of that sort is a prayer.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
The sacrifice 'of' self for the greater good is the greatest calling imaginable, and it is the bedrock of the greatest nations. The sacrifice 'for' self is the most pathetic calling imaginable, and it is the quicksand within which nations perish.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
When standing face to face with myself, I far too often refuse to look in the mirror. When standing face to face with God, there is no place where a mirror is not.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
You are greater than you can possibly imagine, if you would only free yourself up to imagine.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
I pretend to give gifts that people pretend to be gifts so that I can pretend that I gave something that actually cost me something. And what pretending or this sort gives me is the gift of a pretend life.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
A compass calibrated by my greed is a rather shrewd way to legitimize my agenda. However, true north on a compass such as this is a straight line to the edge of a really big cliff.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
Directing praise to oneself is to cash in on the ego in order to bankrupt the soul.
Craig Nelson
The Alchemical world view, in stark contrast to the scientific world view, where rational deterministic man is completely separated from both Nature and the Self, in fact the Self does not even exist. In the alchemical world view, all three are inextricably woven together and in synchronistic or archetypal events & occurrences in one's life, all distinctions between them blur and almost disappear.
Criss Jami
I'd rather strive for the kind of interview where instead of me asking to introduce myself to society, society asks me to introduce myself to society.
Criss Jami
I like solitude. It is when you truly hear and speak your natural, unadulterated mind, and out comes your most stupid self as well as your most intelligent self. It is when you realize who you are and the extents of the good and the evils which you are capable of.
Criss Jami
Ask anyone and they'll most likely say their family is crazy, and if they don't say their family is crazy, their friends are crazy. That's because everyone is crazy after taking the mask off. People are most themselves when not really trying to fit in, when either alone or around those already closest to them, and that is crazy.
Criss Jami
Even the self-assured truth-finders and self-proclaimed freedom-fighters reject Truth. As admirable as such endeavors may be, they still only really want it so long as it to some extent confirms what they had already presumed to be true.
Criss Jami
Confidence is like a dragon where, for every head cut off, two more heads grow back.
Criss Jami
It often occurs that pride and selfishness are muddled with strength and independence. They are neither equal nor similar; in fact, they are polar opposites. A coward may be so cowardly that he masks his weakness with some false personification of power. He is afraid to love and to be loved because love tends to strip bare all emotional barricades. Without love, strength and independence are prone to losing every bit of their worth; they become nothing more than a fearful, intimidated, empty tent lost somewhere in the desert of self.
Curtis Sittenfeld
There was a way in which my grandmother's true self was not these guests' business; no one's true self was the business of more than a very small number of family members or close friends.
D.H. Lawrence
The living self has one purpose only: to come into its own fullness of being.
Dada Bhagwa
Natural Self is the Soul and illusion is the relative self [prakruti].
Dada Bhagwa
He who can see his own mistake can become absolute supreme Self (Parmatma)!
Dada Bhagwan
Who doesn't allow one to attain siddh gati (the final state of Liberation, moksha)? The body-complex (pudgal - that which charges and discharges). Similarly, what doesn't let a gourd covered with mud, to go on top and float on water? The mud. The negative atoms, they weigh very heavily. They drag the Soul, the Self lower down.
Dada Bhagwan
The one who knowingly gets cheated is entitled to liberation!
Dada Bhagwan
The Knower of the Soul is considered Self Realized (The Enlightened one). The knower of all the eternal elements is known as Omniscient (sarvagna).
Dada Bhagwan
Where are you looking for samadhi (enlightened blissful state)? You just come into your own original Self-form of the Soul, final liberation and samadhi are the natural qualities of the Soul!
Dada Bhagwan
All which is regarded as 'my', belongs to the non-Self. 'I' is the Self and 'my' is of the non-Self; it is pudgal, the body-complex. There is nothing wrong with saying 'this is mine' in the worldly interactions, but the 'I', 'who am I?', must be decided from within.
Dada Bhagwan
There are two types of egoism: one is living and other one is lifeless. As long as the living egoism is there, one can never attain the awareness of the Self (Atma).
Dada Bhagwan
When the tendencies (vruti) that were wandering around since time immemorial come within & enter into the Self's (Soul's) abode; it is known as freedom from all wanderings (nivruti).
Dada Bhagwan
There is nothing to fear in this world. Whatever happens, it happens to the body-complex [relative-self], right?
Dada Bhagwan
True peaceful state is that when one has inner peace amidst total lack of peace on the outside. Bliss of the Self (samadhi) amidst external turmoil is 'tested' samadhi.
Dada Bhagwan
Complete focused applied awareness of the Soul (shuddha upayog) is considered absolute Knowledge (keval gnan).
Dada Bhagwan
There is no need to slander the nimit (one who is instrumental), it is only necessary to distance yourself from that nimit.
Dada Bhagwan
The person whose attention is in the 'pure Soul' is known as a renowned person. No one in the past had been celebrated as a famous person; they were called renowned persons. To be famous is the result of an 'above normal' state.
Dada Bhagwan
When the 'right belief' occurs, the world will appear quite different. 'Right belief' will take one towards the Eternal (Self), and the 'wrong belief' will take one towards the worldly life.
Dada Bhagwan
Happiness that comes and never leaves; it is called the bliss of the Soul.
Dada Bhagwan
Worldly life means [state of continuous] agitation and uneasiness. What makes one like it, it is a wonder in itself!
Dada Bhagwan
When a man's trust is violated, he will leave even his friend. Hey, you shouldn't leave him! There is the energy of the absolute Self within and if the knowledge of the Self is attained, one may even attain the state of the absolute-Self!
Dada Bhagwan
When one sees one's own faults, he attains a state of an abode of Self-illuminated Bliss!
Dada Bhagwan
Keeping 'pure focused applied awareness of the Self (Soul)' (shuddha upayog) is the same as being in the Absolute Supreme Self-form (Parmatma swaroop).
Dada Bhagwan
Until ignorance, of one's own Self (the Soul), is removed, illusory attachment (moha) will not go away.
Dada Bhagwan
Where there is (consideration for) merit karma and demerit karma; true religion is indeed not present there. There is no merit or demerit karma in true religion. True religion is where merit and demerit karma are considered worthy of abandonment and that which is worthy of acceptance is one's Self-form.
Dada Bhagwan
The greatest wonder of this world is the Soul. Once It is realized (attained), everything is attained!!!
Dada Bhagwan
He who wants to go to moksha (Final Liberation), he will have to realize his own self. Otherwise no matter how much of anything else he does, he will not attain moksha (liberation).
Dada Bhagwan
If there is true 'Selfishness,' then there is 'liberation of the Self', and that indeed is one's own form (the Self).
Dada Bhagwan
The one with 'egoism' and 'my-ness' (mamata); the one with the awareness that 'I am the doer'- are all called 'Jiva' [living beings] and he who has attained the realization that 'I am not the doer, I am the Knower-Seer and I am the form of the eternal-bliss', then he is the 'Soul'!
Dada Bhagwan
I did this so well'- one says this and tastes the sweetness of subtle pride of doership. One enjoys the sweetness of this subtle pride. There is pain [suffering] with projection of doer-ship. God is eternal bliss and that indeed is the nature of the Self!
Dada Bhagwan
One will have to know the Self. Unless Self is known, God [Allah] cannot be attained. The power of Self should be attained. The power of Self is an abode of infinite bliss. There is no unhappiness there at all. This happiness is there even if someone insults you!
Dada Bhagwan
Only when there is dharmadhyan (auspicious contemplation; to not hurt anyone, to give happiness to others) in the body, then there is shukladhyan in the Self (contemplation as the Self, the Soul).
Dada Bhagwan
There is no means other than vitrag-science (science that frees us from all attachments) that will give Final-Liberation [Moksha]. Other means [methods, instruments] will cause bondage; they only help to pass the time; [whereas] means to attain the Eternal Thing (experience of Pure Soul) can be attained from the 'Gnani Purush' (the enlightened one).
Dada Bhagwan
Misery will not come to the one who does not deceive his own Self. Miseries arise because one deceives one's own Self.
Dada Bhagwan
The 'relative' delights the mind (manoranjan), the 'real' delights the Self (the soul, atmaranjan).
Dada Bhagwan
Knowledge that brings closure [settlement] to the mind in every way is Absolute Knowledge and it indeed is the all encompassing Knowledge that always gives complete closure [settlement, solutions].
Dada Bhagwan
Religion (dharma) is decrease in kashay (anger, pride, deceit and greed) and increase of kashay is irreligion (adharma). When Kashay goes away (completely) is the religion of the Self (Soul).
Dada Bhagwan

Dada Bhagwan
These are all 'ghosts'. If you are afraid, the ghosts will possess you. If there is inner fear of 'what if they hang me?'; then one should say, 'yes, that is correct'. The Soul can never be hung; nothing [worldly] can touch the Soul. All the doings are that of the pudgal (matter; non-Self). The noose for hanging is pudgal and the one doing hanging (the hangman), is also pudgal. The Soul has never been hung. This [fact] does not fit one's vision and that is why he has fear. But once his vision becomes like the Gnani's [the enlightened one], then it's over! For that, one has to stay in touch with the Gnani [the enlightened one].
Dada Bhagwan

It is due to the effect of my own karmas that I have encountered him.

Dada Bhagwan
When can it be said that one has entered into spirituality? Spirituality begins from the moment one gets the slight impression 'I am somewhat different from this [the body?]' And when dehadhyas, the belief of 'I am the body, the relative self', goes away; that is when spirituality is complete.
Dada Bhagwan

Where there is lack of 'Gnan' (Knowledge and experience of the Self; real Knowledge) there is worldly existence and where there is 'Gnan' (Real Knowledge), there is no worldly existence.
Dada Bhagwan
